For the average reefer MH are a good idea if you plan to keep such corals though.
I have also read that Goniopora thrive in tanks with a fuge and little or no skimming...
Personally I wouldn't get one without lots of research beforehand. However buying one on impulse is not neccessarily a recipe for disaster. With some reading up and good care it could do relatively well.
