Hi,
Just seeing if anyone is interested in these.
I look after at the parents two spawning pairs of Archocentrus Centrarchus (Flyer Cichlids). I have only once seen these in the trade.
They have got to be about 6-8 years old I reckon. They spawn regularly but the tank is a bit too small for two pairs, and it's a crying shame that therefore the water quality etc.. doesn;t allow for the eggs to go on to hatch. (altho I'm sure it could be for other reasons).
Considering that they don't appear often in LFS's and they are IMO a stunning fish was wondering if there's anyone who'd want to re-home and give a go at raising them?
They have a blueish tint with varying flecs of subtle colour in the fins and striking vertical banding. When in breeding dress they go nearly jet black and white for high contrast effect..
about 6" in size and they live with some small scatter fish quite peacfully (galaxy rasbora I think).
Here they are in breeding colours..
and then a normal one, apologies for quality of pics, these are quite old so they are slightly bigger now.. it's difficult to see the blue tint in the pics
Let me know if you're interested, they are great fish and it would be good if someone could breed off them
