Flame Gourami is this a dwarf Gourami

Decided to get a few of these this weekend do you recommend I get a male and a female?

Also flame Gourami is another name for them Dwarf Gourami?

So far as I know, flame gourami are dwarf. It is recommended that if you want to get a group, 1 male to 1 or 2 females. If you get multiple males, they may fight over territory. Finding females can be difficult for the Dwarf gourami, since they have much less color than the males. Many stores will only carry the males.

Unless you have a 55 or larger, I would say. Dwarf gourami are pretty aggressive to conspecifics.

It should work with a pair or trio of males, that should give them all plenty of space and territory.

Yes it is, precisely, red-orange morph of Trichogaster lalius.

Do not get dwarf gouramis (Colisa lalius) or any of their colour forms (flame, powder blue, etc) because they are regularly infected with Fish TB and or the gourami Iridovirus. Neither of which can be treated and both diseases remain in the tank after the fish have died.

There are other small species of gourami that don't normally carry these diseases. Look for Indian banded, sparkling, croaking, licorice, or honey gouramis.

Think so yes the female is not as bright as the male. Both of them are happy though
