Hello,
Call me MOA. I have been working on some stocking theories over the past half-decade and have finally managed to compress them into a device that is fairly easy to use: A spreadsheet program called FishsheetA6 (latest version in a long line of ideas). Anyhow, this spreadsheet is designed to help new aquarists stock their aquariums and is more accurate than many of the general guidelines as it considers the following:
Since this thing is not perfect yet, I would appreciate your comments/suggestions. Please bear in mind that it is meant for new aquarists and does not address breeding tanks or more advanced configurations. Lastly, here is a link to the site (too big for an attachment):

Call me MOA. I have been working on some stocking theories over the past half-decade and have finally managed to compress them into a device that is fairly easy to use: A spreadsheet program called FishsheetA6 (latest version in a long line of ideas). Anyhow, this spreadsheet is designed to help new aquarists stock their aquariums and is more accurate than many of the general guidelines as it considers the following:
- Individual Fish Types (240+)
- Biomass Instead of Length
- Tempreature Needs of the Fish
- Minimum Tank Sizes
- Personal Territories/Individual Space
- Aerobic Filtration
- Remaining Wastes
- The Effect of Plants
- Compatibility
Since this thing is not perfect yet, I would appreciate your comments/suggestions. Please bear in mind that it is meant for new aquarists and does not address breeding tanks or more advanced configurations. Lastly, here is a link to the site (too big for an attachment):
