agreed the workload is reduced ten-fold and its for sure is cheaper not having to buy more fish from those that die,

so saves heart ache also

I believe everyone who does fishless does both but those that do a fish less cycle lose less fish in the fish cycle.

I would not hesitate and start running a fish less cycle first.

There is different ways to do it.

Most tell yu not to use a bottle I did and would say it worked for me.

Its your experience your choice but remember go slow and patient it pays off in the long run.

I would say both these have the same intent in the meaning.

If you plant your tank heavily to begin with you don't need to cycle just add a few fish and build up your fish stock slowly. In a planted tank (more that 50% of the substrate planted) the plants perform most of the biological filtration.
