Fishless Cycling?

Do you ned to do a fishless cycle at the start of a nano marine setup or not to mature the filter?
Im confused

It will have to be cycled, but it's a personal decision on whether you want to use a fish to do it. Most people say do it fishless, as it keeps from inflicting the cycling process on a fish. There are many who use damsels to cycle tanks with, too.

In marine, I dont feel theres a choice. Fishless all the way as most all marine fish can be very sensitive to the slightest chemical inbalance, especially that which cycling can cause. If you get mature lr from another owner or an lfs then it may take less time but you still need to allow a couple weeks for die off from transport of the rock and then regrowth

I wouldn't add any fish until cycle is complete.

its possible. but cycleing with fish is unnecassary, and puts the fish through horrible conditions that it has to endure
