hello i am new to the fishie world i need a bit of help..i've had my tank up with declorinated water for 7 days not and it's been running with the filter on and the lights on and the lil bubble dude is on as well, the water is clear and i have a load of clean gravel at the bottem and i have 2 fake plants.

I know what "THE CYCLE" is but i'm not sure how to go upon doing it since i dont wanna hurt any lil fishies by doing the cycleing with a fish..i was just woundering if you can give me any advice on anything speicial i need to do the help my tank cycle (btw:it is a ten gallon and i am planning on investing in a few 24-carat gold mollies) :D :p :D

you might want to move this to the beginners questions else u wont get a reply this area is for introducing your self to the forum

if your doing fishless cycling, you have to put some ammonia in your tank to start the cycling process..once you reach nitrite spike, it wouldnt be too long before you can add fishes, that is when the ammonia goes down to 0 and nitrites to more or less 0.

I suggest you read a couple articles on fishless cycling and how it works. There are a couple links below, read them both but use the recipe (5ppm, not an arbitrary number of drops) from the second link. These are links that are hiding in the pinned post at the top of the beginner forum titled 'Avoiding and treating new tank syndrome.'
