Fish That Are Not Worth Buying.

Well, FW are not worth me buying at the moment as I am gradually changing all tanks over to SW.

I have never been able to keep African Butterfly Fish alive.

As to fish one really shouldn't bother with, there are plent of marine fish (such as the moorish idol) that just do not do well in aquaria.

This thread is interesting. I think I'm opposite of most people. I love guppies, they're so pretty! I've always been lucky with them for some reason. I love balloon mollies too, I just think they're so cute, goofy and awkward.

I agree with the chinese algae eaters. The only thing mine's good for is speeding up the death process in dying fish. I had a sickly fish I was treating and my CAE stuck to the side of him and ate off his slime coat and scales. Poor guy was hanging by a thread. :(

I regret buying my Von Rio tetras. I had bought 1 two years ago when I started keeping fish. I thought he was lonely, so I bought him 4 more to see if he would school with him. They don't school at all, they take up space and aren't all that pretty. I do like my gold tetras, though; they're really shiny and swim fast and are playful.

Livebearers. When I was a beginner I kept them but haven't since. They die easily, the females are usually ugly, and they breed like rabbits. I kind of view them as being the prostitutes of the fish world.

I'm also not a big fan of cichlids, except for the peaceful ones. They're beautiful and all but I don't want fish that will kill each other!

i dont really "hate" any fish but i once had a chinese algea eater ......he was good at eating algea when he was younge but when he got older he latched onto my other fish and tried to suck the protective slime off them! i didnt really like him at all i got so fed up with him i chucked him into a different tank :p

I love my ballon mollies and my guppies I think are great!

I won't even think about tiger bards again! They real bad nippers, so bad that they even nipped a couple of my danios which are suppose to be good tank mates. Never again! Also Neon tertas, I bought some one day and they were dead by the time we got them home, I thought it was a fluke but it happened twice. We only live 2 miles from the fish store!

I'm not a guppy hater. Mines always did fine but then again my water is on the harder, more alkaline side which is supposed to be what they like. And such pretty fish!

Didn't have luck with neons but thats probably due to my water. Would like to try them again though.

Also I have one of those "peaceful community tank with small peaceful fish" and as cute as they are, more and more I want to buy a big tank and put something big, active and aggressive in it.

i have had loads of luck with both guppies and neons, its CAEs i have the problem with, i had one a few years back, killed near every fish in my tank, have hated them ever since

I'm giving in with panda corydoras. Adorable little things with a lot of personality, but they REFUSE to live in my tank. It's a mature tank and I knew they were harder to keep alive, but still :/ Apart from the one neon tetra the only deaths in my tank have been a total of 6 pandas, so we're giving in with them now sadly.

Don't forget its a family board.

Chinese algae eater, found my poor little praecox rainbowfish dead with his eyes sucked out yesterday. My favourite fish and 3 inches long. :-( Bloody thing killed my 14 1/2 sailfin gibbi and my 12 inch common pleco.I hate them.Worst thing is my oscar won't even eat them.Time to get a texas cichlid again  ..Seriously though I need something to eat them, and I am gettign some new cichlids when my 270gal is set up.I don't want to kill them myself but they're terrible fish which no one should have.So they are now food :look:
