Well the tank is a jewel vision 450 (about 100g UK) and has a 75G sump (so about 50g water volume). 5ft long about 2 ft high and 2ft-2.5ft at the widest bit front to back (bow fronted).

We really arent sure what we want. The only stipulations are that they have to be 100% reef safe and be suitable for this size of tank when full grown (there definetly wil not be an upgrade happening anytime soon :) ).

Current fish are:
1 lyretail anthias
1 perc clow
1 purple firefish
1 royal gramma

Fish that I was thinking about:
1 black and white clown (juv) to go with the perc,
Flasher and fairy wrasses - I beleive you can keep multiple wrasses together without to many problems (need to look into this more).
Madarin (not until I have a LOT more LR in there though and a good pod population)
Kole tang
Yellow tang(s) - I have read you can keep a small group of these together in the same tank if the tank is big enough. However I have not been able to find anywhere what size tank is "big enough" for 2 or 3 to go in.

Anyone got any suggestions on a fish stocking list?

For yellow tangs in a group I would reccomend no less than 5. Deffinatly not 2 as one would certainly bully the other eventually and the same is likely for 3 also. The only person I know to keep tangs ina a group on here is me  and so far it has been very successful. I have a 107 US gallon tank with 5 yellow tangs in and I have had no agression problems.
I would say the minimum for a group of yellows would be 100 US gallon but the bigger the better.

As for the wrasses, I think I read somewhere that it tends to be males that fight with each other.
I had a large yellow streak fairy wrasse male and then I added a six line wrasse and the six line was harrassed for a couple of days by the larger wrasse but then everything was all good and have not since had any agression problems between the two.
I think adding 2 wrasse simultaniously in your large system should work out fine :good:

From what I have read about keeping many fairy and flasher wrasse, you need to go for ones that don't look alike. It can be better to add them all at the same time. This for many of us is not practical though. It does seem to be the males that will fight, and if what I read was right, the fairy are worse than flashers for this.

It would definately make for a stunning tank and it is my dream one day. I think there is a thread on RC about it.

Want to avoid chromis and damsels if possible. A Shoal of ghost cardinals could be very cool though.

Yeah I had read wrasses are ok mixed together as long as you get ones that look very different.

yes thats right barney they are.

When i had chromis they were very much bottom of the pile. No where ner as crazy as damsels ive seen before. Id avoid damsels like the plague tbh.

Apogon leptacanthus

Oh my word, a cardinal I like - how cool would they look, but, they are nocturnal - although I bet they look great under actinics

trio of lamarck angels.

or always wanted to try a harem of dwarf angels that could be cool !

Thanks for all the suggestions, loads to look at. We saw a leopard wrasse at out LFS at the weekend and it is really nice. I seem to remember reading that they are difficult to keep fed though and have a low long term survival rate.

Despite me saying I didnt want any chromis lyn saw them in the LFS and has fallen in love with them (she put her finger on the tank and they all swam up to her...!) so it looks like we will be getting some blue-green chromis once my 8 week fallow period is up :) (I must admit they did look very good in a large shoal so we will probably get 9 or 10).

Would have to agree with her, I like the look of them in a shoal - howver as they get older there can be problems!
