Fish Quiz

Is it able to get off the bottom of the tank.
Does it look bloated.
As it sounds like a swim bladder problem if its crashing on the bottom of the tank.
Most swim bladder problems are fetched on by poor diet of to many dried foods, unstable temp, bacterial infection of the swim bladder.
parasites.
Sorry forgot to mention. injury to swim bladder, or birth defect.

well, Wilder answered that so much better than i did

Anyway, bit of a fun question here:

Do fish get thirsty?

Yes. Please don't ask me why. They must get fluids throw foods.

Well that was an answer and a half...well played. You each get half a point!

LOL I forgot to put bad water quality is also a reason for swim bladder.

Would fluids not be at quite a constant level throughout a fish's body, due to osmosis (when it's healthy) and so thirst, in the conventional sense, isn't really a factor? Just a thought...

I haven't a clue. I'm just guessing.

Ahhhh, I see, well, I retract my previous question.

sorry, need a bit more details about why or how they get thirsty.

To many dried foods.
Or if like me to much salt added to your chinese meal.

Well I would say that they don't actually drink the water but they absorb it through their bodies if fluids are required...so, no, they don't get thirsty but they do require fluids in their system.

Makes sense to me.

I cheated in the end and did a search.
fresh water fish do not drink water they absorb it through their bodies which makes their body a filter. Salt water fish do drink water, their bodies are sealed from outside pressure, so they have to drink what they need
