Fish Names

Hi,

In my tank i have a red tailed shark, a tiger barb, a golden tiger barb and a green moss tiger barb. I am thinking about naming my fish and really dont have any idea. Anyone got any suggestions??? Im thinking of Jaws for my shark but thats about all.

When I name my fish, I like to play off the colors. Some suggestions I have for the shark are Vermillion, Ruby, Scarlet, or even Valentine. If you're looking for a more masculine name for it, what about Aires or Lava? Jaws is always a classic.

I have a green tiger barb named Polly, cause all his color reminded me of a parrot. With tiger right in the name of your barbs, you might peek into tribal names. Perhaps some of these might help.

I`ve only named 4 of my fish

Silver Shark (Big one) - Bala (original I know)

Silver shark (small One) - Bala too

Siamese fighting fish - Sami (play on siam)

Gibbiceps catfish - Gibbi

I have`nt named the others as I cant recognise each individual fish

4 Silver Mollies
5 Glass Bloodfin
2 Sucking loaches
5 Neon Tetras
4 Zebra Danios
5 Glolight Tetras
2 Silver tips
about 30 silver molly fry
etc,etc.

I have watched Finding Nemo a thousand times with my kids and the big shark that is trying to kick the habit of eating fish... " Fish are our friends, NOT food " his name is Bruce. He has 2 friends named "Chum" and "Anchor"
You have a bunch of "tigers" in there ... you have to have a "Tony the tiger" or "Shere Khan" ( another Disney name in "The Jungle Book" )

Fish that look individual I name individually ... Betta get greek and roman god names, according tp their color (Mars is red, Poseidon is blue, so was Neptune). The ones that I cant tell apart all get the same name:
All the kuhis are named Ed, for example (long story). My one yellow danio is named Frenchie from Grease!, when the rest of them come in I'll call them all Frenchie.

Pick a theme ... it makes it easier.

I used to name my fish, but have since given up trying to think of names for them ALL. Like I've named my comman pleco Monk after the hit TV show of the clean freak detective (good show).

Beggs watch out for that red tailed shark when he grows up, those barbs will be harassed and attacked. My cousin has a large red tailed shark in with 2 golden barbs(he killed the other 2) and boy does he like to charge and ram them . Just a warning unless they have ALOT of places to hide.

I think the Barbs should be called:

• Barb Bush
• Barb Windsor
• Barb Cartland.

The shark should be called Karen.
