Fish In Cycle

Hi, My mate has just started a "Fish in Cycle" and has asked me 4 advise but as im still new 2 this and have never done a "Fish in Cycle" I didnt know wats best 2 advise. I read some where on here about some 1 doing a fish in cycle and doing daily water changes of 30% also having plants in the tank helps 2, and the process shud take about 2 months 2 stabalise. Is this infomation correct ? As i dont want 2 give her the wrong info. Can anyone help please?
