Fish In A 20 Gallon Tropical Tank?

what are the dimensions of the tank, water conditions, and what do you want to keep? Looking for bread and butter fish? Is this your first tank?

What type of fish do you like?

You could do a dozen small tetras like Neons or Glowlights, a centerpiece fish like a Dwarf Gourami or Molly and a scavenger catfish like Corys or a single Bristlenose Pleco.

Just pick your favorite fish, that's good for the size of your tank of course, and fill in with compatible fish that you also like.

I have owned fish before, but this is my first aquarium bigger than 3 gallons. So technically I'm a newbie to the hobby. I really like bettas. What can go with them? I also want catfish and neon's and stuff.

If I were you I would get
1 male Betta
8 Pygmy cories or 6 panda cories
12 borraras brigittae, cardinals or neons
4-5 male endelrs

PS-make sure that you don't get the other types of cories confused as the more commom ones get much larger than pandas and Pygmys do

just as long as you know, which i'm sure you do, that only one betta in the tank.. Males will kill other males as well as females if they are not ready to breed.. Totally agree with the cardinal tetras very pricey in the states, yet a gorgeous addition to any tank!!!!

Yes, When i set it up this weekend, I will cycle it. I'm putting in Nutrafin Cycle to help. Petland and Petsmart suggested I put tetras or danios in and do a fish-in cycle. I am pretty set on a fishless so I will continue my research.
