fish food

My fish are so fussy! I'm always trying different things with them, but 9 times out of 10 they won't touch it. At one time they all loved dried bloodworms, but no one will go near them now (I've tried different brands to no avail). None of them will touch dried daphnia, but live ones do OK as an occasional treat. Live brine shrimps are popular, but I can only get them occasionally (I seem incapable of keeping brine shrimp alive for more than 10 seconds). I use a variety of frozen food which is generally popular, plus a variety of flake and pellets, but none of them will touch vegetables.

I've got tetras, gouramis, an SAE and cherry barbs in one tank; mollies and guppies in another. Any ideas what to try with fussy herberts?

Actually, when dealing with beef heart, it's not at all difficult to separate the lean meat from the fat. It is extremely clear and very easy to do with a semi-sharp knife. I simply trim away more than is needed, ensuring that what I'm left with is only the leanest muscle. (my cats are more than thrilled to eat what the fish don't have). I'm not sure if it's as simple to trim other hearts (chicken or whatever), as I've never tried. I read all of the warnings about ensuring that your fish don't eat any fat before buying my first beef heart. I thought, for 2 Canadian dollars, I may as well just cut into one and see what it's all about. That's when I discovered how easy it really is to trim it. I keep numerous tanks and, aside from livebearer fry that I feed to larger fish, I may lose one or two fish per year. In other words, I've been feeding beef heart to my fish regularly for at least two years with no ill-effects.
