I'm disappointed. I misunderstood the title. I thought someone had pictures of fish-eating spiders. I knew I had never seen a spider that could swim and catch fish.

Hmmm...maybe not -- but I do know I've seen some VERY big scarey-looking spiders around the docks at the marina. I think they could probably eat a minnow... some of the spiders can actually run on top of the water!!! Very disturbing.

I believe in other countries spiders catch fish. They spin webs over the water, and if fish jump out of the water and into the net, I think they get eaten. But I'm not sure.

We also Have them in the UK, Bet not many Peeps know.

They will catch and eat fish if the opportunity arrises.

That reminds me... I remember seeing something on a discovery show a few years ago about a spider that holds it's breath... then spins a web under water... then fills it with air... I think that's what the second pic is... I don't remember much more than that... but the spider pretty much spends it's life underwater...

I have some BIG south American Tarantulas, and they would just love to feast on a Guppy or Danio!!!! If I put one in the tank with my spiders (which I wont) they would definitely get eaten, my biggest spider loves mice!! (frozen&thawed) hope I haven`t put you off your food,
Mark.
