Do you think my fish will eat spiders? Theres a few in my room.

Killing spiders will make it rain, and since you live in Scotland you already get enough !!!... if the fish are big enough they will eat them but I would reather you just let the spider free they will thank you by killing other things that may bother you..

:D

I couldnt kill a spider, that would be awful. But when I see an insect caught in a web I free it if I think it has a chance. Its pathetic.

Spiders take care of enough bugs to be worth their weight in gold! I have swatted a mosquito and then tossed it into my tank. It's gone quick-like. :p

i have one of those blue bug zappers things abouve my tank

my JD loves all the moths that fall in i still give all of them regular chiclid pellets and blood worms but i reckon they would live quite fine off the insects as they have doubled in size since i started it the amount that falls in there i only turn it on every no and then 1 or 2 nights a week

I feed my betta moths. I get loads breeding in my room, and I don't have big enough fish fr the larvae, so they get thrown out the window :/ . But any moths I catch go in with Hannibal... He's capable of eating them in one bite

I agree killing anything is wrong ( if you can help it ) but I would let nature take it's course if a insect is caught it a web it was meant to happen that way...that is life sometimes cruel always beautiful..

:)

I will make no moral comment on wether or not you should feed spiders to your fish only you know if it is right or wrong.

having said that;
one of my giant danios ate a spider that fell into the tank,
it was one of those long spindaly legged types and it took him a good 10 mins to eat all of it.

In the wild danios will eat any insect, etc that falls into the water.

You won't kill them but you will deny them food?

Umm...

But yes, your fish can eat any insects other than ants.

I don't make a point of going round and freeing insects stuck in webs. I look at it more like I'm prolonging a life, I suppose I'm interfering but the spider will get something to eat later anyway. Sometimes when I see insects drowning in our pond I fish them out. That reminds me of last year when I saw a water beetle come up to the surface and dry off a bit then fly away, it was massive! And amazing!

my snails once ate a jumping spider... while it was still alive.

Ha ha, How did they manage that?
it was a little one that had somehow landed on the surface of my tank of pond snails. i just looked over and there it was, twitching, while two or three snails were wrapping themselves around its legs.

way creepy.
