New pics! Though they look a lot like the old ones, they're mostly for me, so deal  As before, this is two weeks from the last set. Mostly just a little more dense in the elodea forest, and the hornwort seems to be doing well. Both took a hefty prune on Friday, as they were reaching across the surface.

Here are some closeups of the three anubias (?) plants. The old leaves have some sort of algae on them, but the new leaves look great (I think!). I don't think the algae is an issue, as it's mostly from when the plant was high up on the wood to the left. The two I've moved lower haven't shown any more algae growth, and the one that's still up high is getting some shade now, and the new leaves seem healthy.

Anyone know, though, what the black fuzz is that you can see on the top of the wood in the first pic? I assume it's some type of algae. There's also some on the roots and rhizome of that plant. The second shot shows my fight against my bristlenose. He apparently doesn't like my scaping choices and keeps moving it, so I've got the weights on it, hoping it will take hold. It made it through the weekend relatively unscathed, but I'm really starting to think he won't leave it alone long enough for it to grab the wood.

Well, it's been three months since the last photos. (Tends to happen to me during the summer... spending more evenings outside than by the fish tank and what not.) Not much different--planted some of the Egeria densa in the back right, but it's not "growing" on me yet  so I might replace it eventually. Also, just yesterday switched out the planted hornwort on the left for some wisteria, so we'll see how that goes. There's still floating hornwort, so it will be easy to replace if needed (maybe on the right?).

Thanks! Yeah, those are snails  Have had more than usual lately, but I siphon some out each time I do a water change. They've been in there for a looooong time and the population fluctuates, but lately I've seen a ton of eggs. Not sure why. And to think, we thought it was cool when we saw the first one! :fun:
