First Post In Exotic Pet Section !

Must call 'em differently in aus then. Anyway I ordered some beetles today. Might post some pics when they arrive.

Hehehe. No worries. Most don't get my fascination with bugs.
Joined a bug keeping forum. There is 12 members. Hahahahaha. Lol

Yeah. Posted a introduction thread 6 weeks ago... Still no reply. Lol.
Anyway, they'll be here by Thursday hopefully.

Rather you than me - not keen on anything with more than 4 legs! Can tolerate spiders as long as they respect my personal space! lol

I used to keep terrestrial creepy crawlies, and some other native things from my area like pond skaters and aquatic beetles. I had a couple of tarantulas too and at one point I had a small mealworm farm that wasn't to feed anything, just to have the beetles. I guess they're from the same family or thereabouts as what you're getting? Unfortunately I had to stop with those sorts of things when academic stuff started to get hairy and dropped back to just doing aquariums. I wouldn't mind setting up another mealworm farm at some point though since it's so easy to maintain.

The mealworms are just hatched darkling beetle eggs before they pupate. I think the mallee darkling beetles are rarer than the Mealworms you find in pet stores.

My beetles just arrived! They're about 3cm long and 2cm wide.
