I have a small case of finrot on one of my fish. Is bettamax and aquarium salt the fastest and best way to get rid of it?

yes, thats what i use but i use melafix, its the same thing. u may also want to lower your water temp down to 70-ish, that along with the meds will work. id try the salt first if its just minor, there no pont in stressing the fish out with meds that arnt needed

Sorry Guppydude, but Melafix is not the same as Bettamax. Bettamax is a med for bettas. You are thinking of Bettafix, which is a weak solution of Melafix.

I also don't understand why you want the temp lowered. I would keep the fish warm, not cool it off.
