Well I thought it was time i finally got my tank pics up. good luck on seeing all the zebra danios, neon tetras, flame tetras and the dwarf gouramis. oh and the zebra n leopard loach. sadly my digital camera with its flash off is to slow on exposure to catch most the fish and with flash on it just blinds them to a white blob in the photo.

The full pic of the larger tank.

Leopard loach is a bit blurry but hey i dont care

Leopard loach again, bit more side on :)

The Zebra loach is in there, you can just see him and no more.

Rocky, my betta. He's a cracker and worse than a dog for following me around.

An ickle ADF

Yet more ADF

Wooo bellly shot of an ADF.

very nice :good: cute adf

i like your 'but hey i dont care' attitude..........reminds me of me

Thank you. I dont claim to be perfect. I know I am :p

well ive got the 5 ADFs in there with the betta now and they get along very well together - caught the betta snuggled into the ADFs in the middle of the night. Though he is called rocky as he cuddles into the tights im using to slow the current of the filter a bit more. and caught two ADFs mating yesterday   :hey:

When i was cleaning the tank up earlier though i thought i sucked one of the newer smaller ones up, took ages to find him in there.

adf's and a betta, nice stocking combo for a little tank :D I'd be tempted by that myself

Many thanks for your comments.

its an elite stingray filter =O !

whats wrong with them??

My major issue is they are a pain in the neck for removing all mechanical filter material. And their biological/chemical media can only use their little "filter" baskets. Got to break them open to be able to replace the media inside, or purchase new ones made by them all the time. though that is a + for convenience if you like that sort of thing.

they are perfect. the betta has loads of room to move about and enjoy but the frogs keep it from looking too inactive for such as small fish with a bad temper.

one of the other major reasons for the small tank was to give the ADFs a sand bottom ASAP (they were tryin to eat gravel) and to make it easier to find and count them all.

ill definately agree with that.

I was only going to buy a small air-driven sponge filter. Pets@home have them for £10.99 including the pump.

Got the elite baby (better filtration than the sponge) for £8.99.

Just wish I had thought of cold cathode lighting earlier. Am now using that (will hopefullly get some diy hood making and light fitting info soon.)

The white gives a great daylight image (instead of lightbulb image) and the blue on very low voltage is enough for a night hue.

I think that may be down to the actual outlet though . The actualy volume of water treated I feel is fairly accurate, but clearly still more than that quoted.

Yea the current is too much for most of the fish I keep, so I had to get a smaller filter. Even some little elite filter I got that says for tanks up to 3g is too much for my 20g.. but on that one, the sucking power is too much. The output is nothing compared to the stingray..

That darn elite company is out of control

ok, got a pile more FISH pictures this time. Still on the blurry side, but I am (slowly but surely) improving!! and some of these are very difficult to capture, esp with no flash and with the flash, they go so bright its unbelievable. but if you treat them a little like magic eye pictures and screw your face up a little, they look fantastic. anyway, on with the pics:

A Zebra Danios, the arse end of my male dwarf gourami and a neon tetra. the neons are having a dull day at the moment as today is their no food day :) so they go in the huff with me and dont glow too much.

You could imagine I decided to draw this in paint if you wish?
gourami.jpg

And the same again. He is a real character.
gourami2.jpg

I have the female gourami and the leopard loach here. This is the only pic of the female dwarf gourami I managed to get. as a neon blue/turquoise dwarf gourami, the flash bounces off her so much, she becomes a white spot. without the flash, the exposure required is so long, she becomes a large blob, even more blur than these pictures!!!
leopfem.jpg

And the leapord loach. Ive taught him to leap in a backwards flip to catch bits of flake/pellets, its pretty cool. might try to get it uploaded on a DVI :)
leopardloach.jpg

Similar to the female dwarf gourami, the Flame tetras bounced alot of light. This is the best one I got. And again like the neons, they are in the huff and not showing alot of colour today. What they dont know is they get some live food tomorrow!!
poorflame.jpg

These are the hardest to get in my opinion, they just never want to slow down for a photo.

This was a slightly better picture that I randomly caught. Notice the word "slightly"!!

Some close ups of the tetras:

The zebra loach. This guy is more nocturnal, so I thought, "i'll just shoot into the tunnel" - not a great pic, had to muck about with brightness m contrast to bring him out a bit, but you can still make him out.
zebraloach.jpg

This is my proud picture. I spotted this in the corner of another photo - the zebra out hunting on the sneaky. Catching him in the photo was completely accidential, never even knew he was out. It is one of 3 times i have caught him out at this time of day.
