Finally Found Somewhere That Sells Moss Balls!

As the title says, i popped into a LFS that i don't normally use and found these little beauties.

I picked the greenest ones as i guess there the best!!!

Love the way each morning they seemed to have moved!

Those are great! How do they stay down? I mean what is the moss/algae growing on? Do you have to tie them or weight them? Or do they just sink on their own? * wants some *

They sink on their own

If you have enough light in your tank, they float to the surface in the day, and sink at night.

Arrgh! I want some! A couple of those would look great in the 15gal I'm setting up Isn't that some sort of algae though? I saw some on Ebay, and it said they were a type of slow growing algae, and not actually moss at all. Is that true?

yeah it's an algae, but it doesn't spread.

You must have the nocturnal variety.

i love moss balls i have one in all of my tanks even my cold water - they don't looks quite as stylish as yours tho!!

as far as i know moss balls eat bad thinks in your tank - they absorb ammonia and nirtite and break it down - stop me if im wrong - just what i heard..

My fish love the way they trap food so there is always something to eat!

They are like that, otherwise you need brighter lighting.
