i have added 3 koi and some duck weed as well, I still need to add more plants around, but you get the idea.

Nice job on the pond it will look fantastic after the plants are added. Hope you have a warm place for the koi for winters and they do get quite large, upwards of 30 to 36 inches. I had four 4 inch koi in my 300 gal pond that I would put into a 120 gal tank in my basement for the winter. After two years they were 12 inches head to tail and I had to put them into a 7000 gal retention pond on the side of my property. They loved it! Two years later they were over 20 inches but because the pond was so large I only had the occasional glimpse of them.

love the waterfall bit, nice pond. :)

you dont need to bring your koi inside unless it gets 30F or lower. If the top of your pond does freeze over, use a small deicer in the surface to keep the toxic gasses at a low level. Also in the winter you dont have to feed your koi a lot. My koi and goldfish have lived through many cold winters. Good luck on the new pond!
