so yesterday i finished my sisters new tank setup... she had a very pretty male back (this think is huge and was white but had like red tie-die markings on him) he was at least 3 inches in length with his fins in a 2.5 gallon tank... well we got here a glass 5 gallon and i put live plants and bogwood in it... he is one of the most active bettas i have ever seen and LOVES his new tank....

but anyways when i was out at the store i came across a betta that i couldnt pass up. (told my self that i would only get a new one if i was completely WOW-ed)

here he is...

this was him when i first put him in my tank... he went around and flared at every plant... not sure if he"s ever seen any... i have all live plants.

here's him this morning...

was alot calmer and actually ate a little this morning... well until se has seen the black section on my background and is now flaring again at his reflection...
he his all white with just a little hint of blue in his tail...

the only white bettas we ever get around here are sickly looking ones or have a lot of yellow to the white...

he has a few tankmates a dwarf clawed frog, 4 endler guppies, and some cherry shrimp that i havent seen even the littlest bit of aggression and i have another tank cycling just in case anyone changes there mind...

cant really think of a name for him... wanted something to do with the white on him maybe like to do with winter but definately a male name...

any suggestions????

Very lovely boy :) Colouring is a bit like my halfmoon betta. Not very good at thinking of names for other people's pets though.

When you say he's in with a dwarf clawed frog, do you mean African clawed frog? I think these can grow quite big and will eat your fish. If you mean African dwarf frog, they are fine with fish.

I was thinking of Lunar as a name.... but im just not sure yet....

yes its an african dwarf clawed frog... has been full grow for about 2 years and is 1 + 1/4 inches long

i have never had a problem with my dwarfs and bettas... and the shrimp are doing great with it to they dont even notice each other...

my endlers are funny, theres no agression at all but everyone once in a while we will slowly fallow the betta or vice versa being very calm...

only issue is the betta found his refection and is absessed but he's taking a break right now chilling in the front of the tank....

that and only likes sinking food... only takes betta food (two pellets)as it falls and ate like 2 flakes as they fell... didnt have the light on long enough last night to see if he ate any but i put bloodworms in for the dwarf and every single one was gone in the morning

He's celophane (color) and beautiful!

KInda like the name Pluto or Lunar for him, to be slightly different, how about 'Ghost'?

no big on the name ghost... lol maybe Icesis?

Dwarf clawed frog (DCF) seems to be another name for African dwarf frogs (ADFs).

If it is an African clawed frog (ACF) it will reach 4-5 inches and eat a betta if given the chance.

OP, are you sure of which species it is?

i am positive it is an african DWARF frog... i have kept both from time to time...
