My white molly had obvious fin rot and I have been treating for 5 days (antibiotics) per the instructions on the medicine. I can definitely see an improvement, the larger white growths are gone and the fin looks like it has gotten better. But, how do I know it is gone? Will the fin grow back or never completely?

yes you will see them grow back, when you see your fish is opening up its tail to swim then its usually healing. but try ot let it stay away fomr the community tank for a week before adding back in

Hey, you were lucky. I made the mistake of buying two black maws from a dodgy petshop (where I live) and it turned out they had white spot and fin rot. It destroyed my whole tank stock.

That was back in the days when I was new to keeping fish.

Lesson (well and truely) learned. :/
