I have been battling my panda cory's fin rot for the last few weeks. I'm in the middle of my second treatment of Kanacyn. Up until today, he looked like he was slowly improving.

I had been doing water changes every day in between treatments, and they seemed to help. However, I stopped doing water changes according to the directions on the package of Kanacyn. Now the fin rot is getting much worse, really quickly.

My cory's body has turned so pale that it's almost white. He still has his fins, which means it's not too late, right? What should I do?

BTW, the other panda cory and the betta in the tank (4 gallon) have fin rot but it is not nearly as severe.

I switched to higher quality water (RO water) to get rid of persistent fin rot in my tank.

It might not help your little guy, but it definitely improves fish health overall.

I'd also try switching to another treatment and not doing daily water changes as that just dilutes the medication. Leave it for a week and vigorously aerate the water to help keep the dissolved 02 high

Oh, I've stopped doing water changes now that I am treating again. It was just in between treatments that I change the water. Anyway, I'll try to go and buy an airstore- see if that makes any difference.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is RO water?

Thanks for the reply, btw :)

I'd need to buy a kit/ system for that, right? The one that hooks onto my tap? They're pretty expensive :/

Sorry cutechic. You did all you could. :byebye:
Good luck with the other panda and your betta.

It is a bit of an investment, but if you continue to have problems then maybe consider it...

Sorry :/
