Fin Rot

My fish is going through fin rot treatment.

Next week, my friend may adopt my little fishy, but has a question: is fin rot contagious? ie. putting fish in new tank with new fish.

I wouldn't put any undue stress on the fish until this is taken care of. Fin rot is usually caused by stress and secondary infections are not uncommon. Moving it to another tank with other fish wouldn't be the thing to do, imo.

I'm not planning on moving it until it's fixed. but if it's gone, it's safe, right?

which brings me to another question - how do you absolutely know fin rot is cured?
