Just registered, so sorry if this topic is a bit boring but.....

I'm just about to set up a new tank (had my old one for 3 years, and decided it's time to get a bit bigger!)

The tank will be 3ft x 2ft by 30inch high and will stocked with loads of Rainbows, couple of red finned shark, clown loaches and a plec of some description.

I thought i had decided on an Eihms 2126, but having looked around the forum, it doesn't seem as easy as that.

Bio-wheels - what are they - do i need one in a tropical tank?

:S

Thanks for the confimation.

It seems that some people have multiple filters on their tanks - why?

Thanks :fun:

Urmm, the only time I've ever put an extra filter on a tank is to cycle it for a new tank or to keep one as a spare for an emergency.

I spose some fish don't like strong currents so putting two small filters would help to eliminate this.

couple of RTBS? those babies are agressive little buggers when they get big, best stick to two and avoid having any other bottomfeeder that can't defend itself, the shark will probably stake out the entire bottom of the tank as his territory and chase away or beat up anyone invading!

though a few sharks are big puppies =)
