Filter Question

I recently upgraded to a Fluval Roma 200 which came with an internal fluval U4 filter. I would rather use an external filter, will my Eheim professional 2224 which I used on my previous tank be sufficient for a tropical community set up. It is about 4 years old and has run faultlessly. If not, any recommendations for up graded external filter.

the 2224 will be fine if you run the u4 aswell if your not running the u4 then the 2224 wont be big enough you would need a 2229
