Can you rinse off your media in dechlorinated tap water? (Prime) instead of using tank water

Yes, you can, as long as it's not freezing cold.

The reason we normally say 'used tank water' is because it's usually going spare when you're cleaning your filter, but any warm-ish, dechlorinated water is fine.

Ok that is good to know as I did that but I had the temp around 80 degrees to be safe as I know BB likes warm water.
