My two male discus are fighting and scales are falling apart. The females have been laying eggs recently so they are feeling territorial. Will they stop fighting soon? what should I Do?

Hard to tell if they will stop fighting. I would set up a divider.

Hiya

That link doesn't seem to work mate. There is some audio coming through, but no video shows up.

Cheers,

Ash

Hi all I would drop the smallest male. The males are really fighting on the video try a divider for a little while fishy whizz :) :) :) :) :) let me no what happens good luck........................

I saw it too.

Man are those discuses Mad.

Seriously something needs to be done. I would vote for divider. And remove it after a period of time... I would say a week. If that doesnt fix anything (i sorta doubt it will fix the problem tho) then i would rehome the smaller, less active one or the one that hasnt paired up... thats what i would do.

edit: Im assuming u dont have another discus tank to use seperating the males.

Goodluck. and Beautiful fish btw.

Hi mate have you had some luck with the discus. Like I said try a divider for a little bit. Yes I saw the video but it took a bit to load up

fishy whizz :) :)

Might be worth setting up another tank for them so they can breed in pease, there will only be more fighting, unless the other male finds a female of his own and even then they will still clash from time to time, to keep the pecking order in check.

Mine fight like mad, its like a eposode of eastenders or something.
I have two large females fighting over a male, two males fighting to pair up and two other females thay seam to fight for the sake of it.

Have you raised them all from young, there's some fine looking discus there.

By the way th link worked for me.
