Fighter Fish

For some reason the other day my fighter fish started going after my neon tetras...
 
he had been in there for nearly 2 weeks and just randomly started doing it, he managed to get ahold of 2 of them and took bites out their stomachs
 
is this normal?? he seems to be leaving them alone again now, he gets fed every 2 days...
 
I'm thinking of just taking him back to LFS

I'm afraid it is fairly normal. Some fighters will tolerate other fish, but some won't

will prob take him back to LFS then as much as i like him not wanting just one fish I'm a 40ltr tank lol 
 
i have got a smaller 25 ltr tank so maybe set that up for him
