yes it's every year and has been so for about 30 years now

This event should surely be held in the midlands or similar. Havant is one hell of a trek for a lot of people-what next scilly isles?!

problem is one of cost accommodation, storage and venue...

Typically 400 people on site at reasonable cost, with facilities for out of hours entertainment
storage and or transport of all the kit... several 40' containers worth (not many places prepared to let you leve that lot there for a year.....)
A venue prepared to let you loose with .....oh getting on for 20000gal of water in their facilities (before water changes)
Gawd knows how many sockets.... the discus show uses over 100 alone ( don't even ask what 1 socket costs on a stand at the NEC, ditto water)
Add in to the equation the need to accommodate about 15-20 staff for 2 weeks before the event
