Yeah, I think it probably depends on the temperment of the individual fish - I guess I may have particularly aggro gals, too - I had to seperate one of my gals last night, cause she was flaring at everybody, and making the whole tank antsy.

Very nice females everybody..... :)

Heres Pinky....

She Passed Away.. :-(

chatterbox I live in San Francisco too (well Alameda actually) but there is a great store there called Lucky Goldfish that has females. It's on the Broadway.

Nope, not a plakat. I wish! I don't think there are any plakats here in the Philippines.

Yes, it's really a girl. She has the white egg thing between the fins. She flares, but not much anymore. In that picture she was new and I was introducing her to a male that she apparently is very interested in, as she turns darker and shows stripes and flares when she seems him. Now that she's with a boring (she thinks) male, she's duller and paler. But one thing that I like about her, even in the store her tail is always open and rounded. And her half blue eyes. :)

You can see the white thing here:

She's paler now:

i see the tube. But its not a regular betta. Thats gotta be a female plakat. That is not a veil tail betta.

Not sure about the male female thing but the easy way to tell is put a male thats definately a male in if they don't tear each other apart then she's a she!! Bit harsh and not to everyones liking but at least you'd know!
