Hi all,

Please can you tell me how much to feed my fish. At the moment I'm giving them two squares of frozen blood worm and a few flakes every two days. The list of what I have is below.

I have a similar amount of stock and if you read on most food packs it says to feed 2 to three times a day as much as your fish will eat in few minutes.
I find it is best to feed a little flake an hour or so after lights on and then a little flake and an extra treat of either tubifex, live food or pellet in the evening.
Any more than that seems too much, and I would rather keep them a little hungry than cause health problems.
I now have started leaving them one day a week, read it somewhere.

Essentially you feed them about as much as they will eat in a few minutes (say once a day) and occasionally skip a day (I ususally skip about one day every 7-10).

Looking at your fish list though it looks as if you are somewhat overstocked I'm afraid - for instand each of your clown loaches will eventually grow to being about 12" long, if your shark catfish is a red tailed shark, that can grow to being 3-4' or even bigger......etc. etc.
Dont mean to go off your topic, but I think you need to consider returning or moving some fish on before you have a stack of losses.
A trigon simply wont be able to cope with the filtration necessary for that many large fish never mind the issues of it being too small for them.

If you already know all this, then ignore me, but given that you're not sure how much to feed, i am assuming you're new to the hobby and have been sold too many inappropriate fish by your LFS.

Yes I'm aware that some of the fish will out grow the tank. When they get larger I will move them to another tank or trade them. Thank you for mentioning this though.

Also the catfish is a Aluminium catfish :D
