saltwater fishes have the same metabolism as freshwater fishes.
I would have to disagree with this.

Saltwater fish have such high metabolism because the flow is much higher in the ocean. Or rather, higher in fish tanks.

Fish have adapted to the weak flow of fish tanks, even though the water they naturally occur in might be super strong.
 
What do you mean by weak flow? the flow of water?
If so, that has nothing to do with the metabolism. Temperature is a partial contributor to metabolism in fish with warmer water helping them digest food faster and age quicker.

This is what I meant. ^

Because saltwater fish have to deal with strong current, they exert way more energy than peaceful flow freshwater fish. This, is what makes them have a higher metabolism rate than freshwater fish.
 
Why saltwater fishes should have higher metabolism than freshwater fishers ?
It is more a matter of species I think....
