Hi, it's been so long since I had a new betta. "Snowball" is about 6 months old and I'm not sure if I'm feeding him enough. He hangs at the corner going crazy when he sees me waiting for food, then gobbles it up in seconds! I can't even drop flakes in for my 2 ghost shrimp--he eats that too! Once I dropped half a pellet in the tank for them, and he grabbed it, swimming around with it sticking out of his little mouth! I give him at least 8-10 betta bites a day, and 3 days a week some frozen bloodworms. :S

Nemo likes to go crazy and swim around when he thinks there is chance of food :D

most of mine go crazy about food too. i ended up feeding the ghosties those algae wafer things because it was the only thing i had on hand that the bettas couldn't eat immediately (though it didn't stop them from trying). I WAS dropping extra pellets until i realized the all of a sudden my blue crowntail was ballooning up like mad, the pig

They are little piggies aren't they--and he's so fast too--picture my ghost shrimp swimming furiously to the top for his flakes, but the betta vacuuming them up before the poor thing is even halfway there. At least he drops the pellet eventually. I was just worried I wasn't feeding him enough.

My bettas arent very crazy eaters, they just wait till I put food in and then come up and get it, usually with mine if I see they are eating it way too fast and there's nothing falling to the bottum, I'll give them a little more. Yours just sounds like he's a piggy eater, you could try to get some of those algae wafer things, they are usually too big for the betta to eat right away.
