I have some pea puffers and I know they aren't brackish, however, I thought I would get more of a reply from here. My question is, is there a way to limit the amount of bloodworms etc. that get pushed around the tank? Is there a feeder that is specially designed to hold frozen food in place to reduce waste??? Either store bought or home made??

Just feed in smaller portions.

Little & often is the key to feeding many species.

There are feeders available, but dwarfs like to chase the food around the tank, so feeders aren't always very useful.

Here's a picture of one of our dwarfs taking wriggling live bloodworm from a feeder that consists on a plastic cone covered in slots with a sucker to attach it to the glass. (Algard brand feeder from our LFS, around £1.50)

Thought I'd add that the feeders do not work on frozen bloodworms. The idea behind them is that the bloodworms will slowely wriggle out, which they obviously wont do when frozen.

Best way to feed frozen bloodworms to your puffer is to let the cube defreeze in a glass or cup, then use a cake fork to limit the amount of food you put in. I usually throw in about 8 bloodworms per puffer.

Make sure to runse out the food, or defrost it in a brine shrimp net. there are "juices" in the cube, you don't want in your tank.
