feeding fancy tails

my flake food always gets drawn to the water coming out of the filter so the fish never get a chance to eat from the surface

Bread once a fortnight just as a treat, cucumba every other day or when you can be bothered it's up to you, as long as they are getting some frozen products and veg in there diet a couple of times a week, or daily as long as there diet isnt just dried foods, as with goldfish they are prone to swimbladder problems.

Thanks, your'e welcome.

I see.One of them does seem to have problems in keeping his "balance" sometimes.
E.G. floating upside down to the top of the tank, although he does eventually "right himself".
Should the lettuce, cucumber, bread etc...be broken up into "bitesize"pieces for them first? or maybe just put in a "lump" and encourage a "free for all" :dunno:
I used to feed slices of zucchini to my orandas....the 'free-for-all' was fun to watch as they ripped it apart but sometimes smaller fish can get hurt in the fight to get to it....also they would leave the circular skin untouched

now I chop it into small pieces and they eat the skin too! (I boil the zucchini first)

I feed twice daily (2 smaller serves is better than 1 big feed) if kept in a tank (ponds..once good enough) but obviously everyone has their own opinion on this.

my orandas eat anything but seem to love zucchini & bloodworms best!
