I have 4 guppies at the moment, 2 boys and 2 girls. The girls are so fat they must be ready to pop by now, but how long do they normally take to give birth?
These guppies have been fat then skinny over and over since I've had them, and not once have I seen even ONE fry.
This time they have some plants to hide in, but how big are they when they're born? I don't want them all to be eaten (if there even are any fry), how likely is it without intervention that any will survive?
The adult guppies are absolute pigs and I know they'd be more than happy with scoffing a fry banquet to the point of exploding.

Depending on tank temps the time from mating to fry drop can be anywhere from 22- 28 days. If you are not finding any fry but the females look as though they have dropped their young then I would suspect the adult guppies are eating the fry as soon as they are born. The only way to ensure fry survial is to remove the female which is about to give birth and let her have her young in a different tank with planty of plants (she will eat her own fry given half a chance), once she has finished having the babies return her to the usual tank and let the fry grow to an uneatable size before returning them to the adults tank.

Wow, thanks Baccus, I didn't realise they held onto the fry so long! I don't have an empty tank, looks like they'll just have to learn to hide really quick :/

It is simple KayZ. Adult guppies almost always will ignore most new fry if, and only if, they have plenty to eat aside from those fry. I overfeed, to the point of being ridiculous, this tank. The end result is plenty of fry that survive to grow bigger. I sell my surplus fry every few months by selling all adult fish from the tank at a club auction. The fry that remain in my tank regenerate the fry population and keep the tank going.

Hey :)
Your guppy females could be pregnant although they also could be a bit over fed, its better to feed small amounts 3 to 4 times a day instead of giving the 2 big feedings, also you will need to let them starve for a day in your tank with just plants and no food as this will clear there digestive system, preventing them from getting infections etc. :D I would also take one of the males out and bring him back to your store or get a small tank for him as he could be stressing the females out, making them digest the fry while they are still in her :/ amazing little fish but can be quite cruel. For 3 guppies i would feed 3 to 4 flakes every 4-5 hours :) have fun and keep inspecting your tank for fry :)

I plan on shifting them to a bigger tank and see if I can take the girls back.
I might see about getting a few more boys, that way I'll have the prettiness without having to worry about the girls being pounded to death haha

We have fry!!! Found 5 this morning during a water change, but now there's only 3 :(, they've been removed to another tank :D Seems they were just about to pop after all!

Congratulations. You know all of us 'round here enjoy a nice mom and fry pic :) hint hint lol

I have two girls so I'm not sure which one dropped the fry, and one of them must have decided they looked tasty so there's only three now and both girls are back in their own tank.

This is two of the bubs 2 days ago, they've grown tons already so I'll have to get some new pics :)
