Anyone who doesn't find comic sans offensive has obviously not studied typography

which is fine, since most people haven't

Your right on both points here.

And sadly enough, anyone who does post is just feeding them.

Typography, jeez. I bet that's interesting!

it is a sick world we live in that's because
kids get away without been disciplined these
days i am sorry but its the way i feel about it
i was disciplined as a kid and and it never did
me any harm there is no deterrent to them not
even the law.discipline it teaches respect

when you mean by discipline do you mean corporal punishment or something else? tbh corporal punishment (if thats what your referring to) only ignite hate and fear to whoever commited it and in no way should be used at this time.

Please, stop using Comic Sans and large font, its offensive to the eye and forums have styles for a reason.
Also, there isn't really such a thing as an IP tracker, once troll hit, all you can do is ignore them.
If, somehow, you get hold of IP addresses, they won't tell you much, the best you can get is the city they live in.
?

it got me as well is he the admin or something
no hes a teenager so knows everything about everything

ummmm he says its offensive to the eyes not offensive in general so idk why your saying he hasnt been properly offended (unless you mean eye offensed lol )

and the teenager comment if that was true i wouldnt be in such a pickle now would i?
please dont generalize a group of people :)

It is quite stereotypical of teenagers, I mean we are not all *****. Pardon my near French.

I also notice the group has gone, so no worries. Let a man rest in peace.

if it wasent supposed to be used they wouldn't of put the size
and script things on then would they and yes there is such a thing as
an ip tracker if you have run a forum you need one for when
it comes to banning people i run a forum for 5 yrs and you can
now down load the software for an ip tracker

http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/ip-tracker.html

running a forum has nothing to do with it - god knows why it would either.

tech-frog is right, even if you use an IP tracker and get the IP, then what? At best you might get the right city/town (depending on how good the IP tracker is) and after that you'll need to get in touch with the relevant ISP and ask for the users address details which they will not give to you - it's called data protection and telling them that the user said something nasty to you on the web isn't going to change anything other than causing a snigger on the other end of the line. People say bad things on the web every day, it might not be nice but it's their right to do so as much as yours...in the politest way possible, get over it and move on.

and yeah, Comic Sans is nasty and should't be used.

Yeah, all you'll get from an ip tracker is a 12 digit
number. If you're lucky you might be able to find out where it's from. But you won't get names or addresses without a police warrant.

Then you're assuming it's a static ip the user has. Where a lot of people have a dynamic ip address which changes everytime they log on. If you have a dynamic ip and you're banned from a forum all you have to do is disconnect from the Internet and reconnect and you have a new ip.

10 years from now you will be in your 20's then you will know exactly what im saying about teenagers yes there not all the same but its suprising how many of them think they know it all

Even then, It's hard for police to track addresses. I remember when a family friend was impersonated online and the people were saying "I am going to commit suicide and such" and all the police could do is track the IP down to Essex area, the only reason they went to him was because they was using his name to sign up for the account and shouting his name about in the chat room.

And to be honest, unless you're dabbling in extremely illegal like Fraud or under-age Pornography, the police are not really going to care at all.

Once again, no such thing as an IP tracker. You can catch peoples IPs when they visit a page, as you said its used for banning or statistics (using the IP's town). Also, no I'm not a "teenager who knows everything", a comment which is quite offensive, I'm a freelance web programmer and network specialist, I also have experience in LAN hacking, so don't be so rude and assuming. An IP doesn't identify somebody, most service providers will give you a new IP if you unplug and reconnect your router, thus nulling your bans, or tracking. The only way, as stated earlier by somebody else, to find somebodies address from an IP is to contact their service provider (Verizon, Virgin Media, AOL), but for legal reasons they cannot tell you.
You could imagine an IP like this:
1.1.1.1
Country.State/County.City.Neighbourhood

Still, it's not very accurate and changes often.
As for the trolls, simply responding to the trolls makes them oh so worse, I've done it my self. It's hilarious when somebody whines because you insulted them, that's the whole idea behind trolls, they just want a reaction, the thing that is making trolls worse is the people whining at them.
If a troll starts on you, just tell him to gb2/b/.

Trolls are a fact of the internet, if you can't stand them, man up or get out.

EDIT: Just read that "Five types of trolls", people who don't really understand what a troll is need to stop assuming, that should be a list of "Five types of idiots".
This is what a internet troll is really like (although comically made, and may be offensive to some people, so beware before watching, contains racism, anti-Semitism and other unpleasant statements), there are no "types": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMEe7JqBgvg

Do you mean you have been a Troll or have been insulted by response from a Troll?

lol

for some reason I;ve got tje image of someone on a counselling session saying my name is Joe Bloggs and I used to be a troll!!

Biff is right about kids and discipline... the respect alot of them had I believe is diminishing making this a trickier world and I would hate to be ateacher these days. They certainly have alot to contend with

I find the youths the hardest to deal with a nd avoid them ifI can as they have no respect in general and are not scared of the police or jail. This is obviously a sweeping statement and some kids to impress me with their attitudes despite poor upbringing but in the main they are a nightmare and I worry for my kids future and the world they are growing in to

thanks for that i thought for a while there it was just me and i was the only one who saw this type of thing happening but an glad i am not the only one and then they wonder what
is wrong with the kids of today
its since they stopped discipline in
schools if they discipline kids today
they send them home and that is just
playing right into the kids hands
which leaves them to Roam the streets
where they can cause more trouble

Ehh, discipline is taught at home by parents. Schools are not responsible for the way children are brought up in their family home. Although of course parents seem to be abdicating all responsibilty to us (school) now a days, as does it seem society is as well!

Behaviour was no better when there was corporal punishment! - there have always and always will be children who have behavioural issues as part of a medical condiditon and children who have been brought up to believe that education is not important and that the Police etc are to be distrusted and abused.

The only sanction available to schools is a fixed term exclusion. if parents enforce the sanction with appropriate sanctions of their own, support the school and show children that education is important they can be effective. Pupils are not allowed 'on the streets' during an exclusion, they need to be kept home to study.

The majority of young people are kind, trustworthy and lovely people to know, its just a shame that people only seem to come in contact with the anti social ones!

the law if you know what i mean [ you touch me I'll tell the police on you]
and they do the same with parents and teaches alike
