Externals With Flow Control

Hi peeps, im looking into getting an extrnal filter for my 90ltr tank, but i want to be able to control the outlet flow rate as i dont want my fish and plants blasted to one side of my tank! Either the tetratec ex600 or Eheim ecco 2232 i was looking at.

I got a second hand Fluval 204 for my 70L last week. Seems to be working great, it has flow control but for my tank, the flow at full is ok (directed from back to front at an angle) for my fancy/danios/WCMMs. I found the flow control didn't make a great deal of difference though (considering you can only run it anywhere between 100% and 50% according to the manual - otherwise you strain the pump).

I have a 2234, and Eheim themselves said you can turn down the flowrate using the OUT tap... although I never had to !
