I like this quote from the second link you posted...Nice pictures though!

"Blueberry/Raspberry Oscars. You can also find blueberry and raspberry oscars upon occasion. Both these varieties are actually albino oscars colored with dye. The dye completely disappears within three months. You then have a regular albino oscar. (We wish we had invented the process and patented it. We’d open little shops around the country that would re-dye painted fish. For a nice price, of course.)"

Are they joking or are they really that idiotic???

while I am sure that Venus isn't a wild caught fish this is a post about some wild caught venezualian oscars that look alot like your oscar.oscar post

as for the other oscar I am pretty sure that it is just a plain jane run of the mill copper colored oscar

LOL what a gimmick LOL!!!!! All they are are discolored ( meaning 2nds ) Tiger Oscars WOW some bs lfs...... Eventually but hopefully there colors will not turn to shibby like my friend who had low grade oscars..

It is a very true and sad fact that they do dye albino oscars :-(
Such beautiful creatures mocked........... :grr: IT PISSES ME OFF!!!

But your Oscars are just simply lovely. I wouldn't mind having one of them.......or that zebra oscar in one of those photos!!!
It's amazing that all Oscars have different print/splotches/whatever you want to call them.....like our fingerprints!
They are a fish to be respected I do believe!

Peace 8)

venus looks like a zebra oscar Astronotus ocellatus. all oscars actually come from that species and are slight variant on the velvet chichlid.

in the case of seerena looks like a red oscar(again still same species) and a zebra got it on and she was the result. They're not dyed and are a natural variant and a more desirable version of the standard actually. Nice find beautiful fish.

Thats what a common Oscar looks like, I've seen them called Black Oscars but yeah..

Kinda odd that Tiger ext. Oscars are more common then the common Oscar

^^ I'm talking about Venus
technically speaking they're all the same fish and they interbreed a lot. So a velvet chichlid(oscar) is usually going to have some marbling on its side. the more rare is actually a true red oscar that has no marbling on it.

Oscars are my second favorite fish and have owned many.
