Experienced angelfish breeders

Sexing Angels can be a challenge. I used to be exceptionally good at it. Ignore everything else apart from the slope between the Pelvic fins and the vent. The male has a steep slope and the female a flat almost horizontal slope. If you start to look at all the other things you will get confused. So, ignore the size of fish, fin shape etc. etc.

Adult angelfish that are well fed can usually be sexed by the head. Male cichlids that are in good condition and getting lots of food develop a fatty growth on the hear and this makes the top of the head look fatter and more rounded. The females don't develop this and have a straighter shaped head.

I am pretty good at it as well but the male I was talking about was from a pair the female died I think some eggs died inside of her so I was thinking about putting the female from that pair that fights a lot in with him but I think I might just put some of that pairs babies in with him they are around 6 months old
