Can Exodons and Oscars be kept in a 100g tank? I know the Exo's will get nippy, and I know the Oscars will eat them from time to time, but can it be done? Silver Needles wont work, Oscars will eat those guys, and I really love these Exo's.

CFC, I need you!

As you already said the oscar will eat the exodons from time to time, and exodons are not cheap with a average price of about $7 a fish and a need to always have a school of at least 6 to prevent them just tearing each other to bits you are looking at spending a minimum of $40 on what will essentially be feeders for a $5 oscar.

Grr...

Im thinking maybe of doing a school of 30 in my 100g, as a species tank. If I go balk, maybe I can get that price down. I just love these little guys. I want one predatory fish, and these guys are like Piranhas, just more interesting to watch. Thanks guys.

Cheers,

I'm hopefully picking some up this weekend or the weekend after.

If they have 'em at Petland when I go this afternoon, I'll se about the bulk price for you. I know they do it in ones, threes, sixes, and twelves, so I'll ask them if they'd be willing to make you a deal. If not, I've still got my discount card and a little pull with some of the staff. ;)

Exodons will graze on scales and fins if nothing else is available but actually preffer to be fed meaty foods like whitebait or lance fish where they will devour the whole thing. Basicly they are just small attractively coloured pirahna.
