Here is my take on it....
Although Pete seems to have made amens for his indiscretions with the "LIVES" he took responsibility for...and claims ignorance..........
I can't buy his explaination that his intent was not to belittle or derive enjoyment from his inhumane acts of torture.
He made no bones about posting these cruel acts on his web site for all to see and comment on!!
If he truely wanted to "learn" how to properly care for fish, then I am certain he could have located many forums to find the help he needed.
I read the postings on his forum and they were outlined as tho he was keeping a journal of how many fish he could destroy and he really did seem to take pleasure from it and not give it a second thought!!
Anyone with any semblance of human decency would have realized their attributes did not include keeping fish after the first few sets of fish he destroyed and would have stopped, but he continued on his merry way with the thought "oh well down the commode they go"..."let's go get a few more "BUCKS" worth of torture enjoyment!!
I also don't buy into the comparison of cattle to aquarium fish (sorry Dragon) There is no comparison!! Cattle are bred and raised soley for the purpose of human consumption, but even they are fed and watered and their pens are kept up. If they become sick they are treated or destroyed in as humane a way as possible. Bottom line is "they are not bred to be "pet's" where as tropical fish are. Now if someone were to keep a "black Angus" as a pet, I for one would expect them to treat them as such.
As for the "personal attack and threat" made to said moderator.....I will simply say we are all friends here and we expect EVERYONE" to conduct themselves in an adult manner!!
If this type of post should happen again, I will recommend ALL posts by said member be moved to the moderator forum for review prior to said members posts being allowed to be made public.
As to the topic of derogatory and insulting PM's......This to is a violation of the rules of this board. Just because it's not open for public viewing does NOT make it allowable!!
I am therefore recommending any and all PM's of this nature be forwarded to the admin of this board for review and any action he feels is appropriate.
