Erm Yeah, Erm Rash!

Would just like to add to the salt rash idea. I get horribly itchy when my hand's been in the salt tank, and sometimes my arm will turn red in certain areas from it.

Yikes Truck, anaphylactic reactions are never good. Glad it was just a rash on your arm, and good move downing the antihistamine. Never wait with things like that, always act quickly. Also, if, God forbid, the problem ever is worse than a rash (ie heart racing, palpatations, fever, or worse) make SURE you tell someone the problem came from a marine fish tank, so that they can tell people in the hospital that. Important that they know where the histamine might have come from so they can treat well.

Did this happen right after you did the whole aiptasia killing thing? Could have been nematocysts released into the water that you're allergic to. Ever tried touching a really strong coral with your fingers? Like a euphyllia, elegance, or an anemone?

yes it was after killing the nems, nematocysts seem very feasible. ive never touched a euphyllia or elegance, but at the beach once i touched a nem (cold water species) with no adverse reactions

You definetly need some long gloves  You have to think what if you cut yourself in your tank, could then be a much worse situation. Better to be safe than sorry where your health is concerned.

OMG Truck. Not good. I agree with everyone you should definately get some long gloves, you are obviously very sensitive to things, you need to take care and don't take any chances.
