Went to wildwoods today and bought some lampeye "Tetras"

Turns out they're killi's

this is a google image pic of them, theyre too small for my camera ATM

These are the exact colour that mine are... just want some confirmation that they are indeed killifish... in which case, i will either take them back, or i dont know what!

Not like wildwoods to get a species wrong, not sure what they are but their beautiful and I would keep them!
How much was it?

i think £2.45 each, i paid for 3 but i got 4 as it was the last one left in the tank...

Oh, well considering the name 'Lampeye tetras' And their eyes are lit brightly i'd say their lampeyes but I dont know anything about them so not sure, Lol.

yeah, but i got that pic when i searched for lampeye killifish though...

they are lampeyes i think. lamp eyes are a common name for a couple of fish. one is known as normans lamp eye as far as i no.they are of the family Cyprinodontidae and are quite widespread through africa. they are quite hardy and can thrive in a number of conditions and the other as far as i no is a killi but i think they are quite rare or at least i dont think i have ever seen them although i no you can get hold of them. i think yours are normans but not entirely sure. the killi lampeyes i think are deeper bodied. either way they are very nice characteristic little fish but you should get more of them as 4 isnt really enough

normans lampeye killifish... yep, thats it...

They're jumpers mate, so ensure your tank is covered.

One of my LFS has them in for 85p each! :D

It's all the same as of you hadn't checked what they were and just called them lampeyes. I'm sure they'll be fine.

they're eating like anything and have ballooned up to about twice the stomach size in the last hour! they have now stopped eating and are swimming around slowly, like they are weighed down lol! i did get a few other lil' fishies as well.. 3 ember tetras and 3 harlequin rasboras... all are OK and in 5 weeks i will go back and up their numbers to 6 each...

i also got 3 zebra danios to keep my one pearl danio company in my other, bigger tank

zebra's and pearls are different fish they should have numbers of there own species
