give it a try goldfishattack. let us know your results. who knows, maybe you'll have good luck. if you insist on this route, look into a sponge filter as your filter. my lfs that keeps fish in gravelless tanks use that and it seems to keep the tanks clean. just make sure you clean and do those water changes regularly.
