i have just got 2 emerald river goby for dirt cheap at 2 for £6 and as i have searched online they are supposedly very rare so there is not much info on them i was wondering if anybody has any good info on them as i clueless on these little guys

i will get a picture tonight and i think the scientific name is "Gobiocichla ethelwynnae"

i know i have just read that they are a type of cichlid i thought they were a goby so i posted in here

Just been checking it out and i believe you have one of the Stiphodon species of algae eating gobies. give me some time while i narrow down an exact match.

Stiphodon percnopterygionus. Stunning fish when they colour up.

if it's the true Emerald River Goby it's a goby not a cichlid
Stiphodon elegans

However the two do look simular
