Eheim Classic 2213+ External

Pro's are good because of the self prime function etc but you'd prob get less filtration for your money in terms of tank turnover compared to a classic. Compare the two you have seen and have a look to see what the difference between to two is in terms of litres per hour output

Well this is my first canister filter it's the eheim classic. I never used a canister filter before and I found this a breezzz to prime and get going. I did freak out once because I was doing a water change and the water got really low and I forgot to turn the filter off. So I did have a hard time getting it started but once I figuard it out I had no problem. Now I know how to fix it so Next time will not be a problem.

For the price I think it's great. I recomend it. Mines in a planted tank too.

Do understand that there is a difference between the Pro & the Pro II lines. The Pro's come with media baskets, shutoffs integrated into the line connection, but no prime button. The Pro II line has these, a prime button, flow control lever, as well as a flow indicator.

You can use the shutoffs on the Pro's as a flow control, you can remove the flow indicator ball & housing wiget on the Pro II's as it's just another thing wanting to be cleaned when it plugs.
